What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a holistic healing modality developed in China over 3000 years ago.
The modern form uses very thin sterile filiform needles placed in specific points across the body depending on condition and the course of treatment.
How it works.
The brain not only receives more oxygen and nutrients but also mood enhancing neurotransmitters. During a treatment a subtle shift occurs in the body, taking place at around 15 to 20 minutes from a flight or fight sympathetic state to a rest and relax parasympathetic state. During the rest and relax state, breathing becomes deeper and settles into a natural rhythm. The diaphragm relaxes, allowing us to take deeper breaths and bringing more oxygen into the system.
Capillaries dilate to carry away blood from overactive areas of the body common in a stress response to deeper levels where it’s needed. The heart can pump oxygen rich blood under less strain, allowing better blood flow. During this healing state, the brain not only receives more oxygen and nutrients but also mood enhancing neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin which boosts energy levels and allows for well restful sleep.
Chinese herbalism dates back thousands of years and arrives at its logical conclusion in modern herbology. The prescription of herbal formulas is a precise science. There are a several hundred common herbs compounded in formulas used to help resolve issues and achieve a balanced internal environment.
The cornerstones of a healthy life include nutrient rich food, purified water and natural sunlight.
To receive maximum nutrition we recommend:
